Pal Management Inc. seeks a Lead Developer-IT in Burnsville, MN to work within the Software Development team developing efficient and effective applications for Pawn America's various dedicated business areas.


The position requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Math, or closely related field, or foreign equivalent degree. We require 3 years of: development experience within a card payment environment; development of B2C or B2B websites; work with ASP .NET, C# and SQL Server, JavaScript, DHTML, AJAX and HTML; software deployment process. We also require 2 years working with Object Relational Mapping, OO analysis and OO Design; integration of code and databases within a pair programming environment; and experience working with content management systems within an agile software development environment. Experience can be gained concurrently.


  • Develop web sites, applications and rich multi-media experiences according to technical specifications;
  • Work closely with other developers to integrate the applications according to departmental standards and processes;
  • Ensure all developments are fully documented, meet high level design requirements (e.g. data, customer experience, architecture, security, quality & operations) as well as regulatory and industry standards;
  • Ensure all newly developed software goes through an appropriate testing process and has solid release plans for testing phase to live operations and production;
  • Report all development activity, including project development progress and issues, identify remedial action when required to address problems, and keep project development on track;
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, skills and technologies, and share information, ideas and best practices with Software Development team members and other divisions to improve skills and avoid single points of failure;
  • Create and maintain strong working relationships with other members of the delivery team and the wider technology organization within Pawn America to ensure the overall function operates professionally and is seen as delivery focused;
  • Produce code assets in adherence to departmental standards, and work with design agencies and the user experience team to develop user interface concepts that support the intended purpose;
  • Provide input, advice and feedback into the design of software systems. Estimate the time and materials required to complete a timely, and on-budget project;
  • Work independently and/or within a team as required. Participate in team activities and team planning with the aim of improving team skills, awareness and quality of work; and
  • Provide support for a system including analysis, tracking and resolution and utilize approved technologies for the development of systems.
